Baltimore
County, Maryland Request for Support
Baltimore County, Maryland recently conducted a GIS Strategic
Business Plan that explored the costs and benefits of the technology,
opportunities for expansion, and improvements based on industry
best practices. One of the recommendations of the study was to
put our data in the public domain. This goal of the survey, accessed
from the link below, is to poll the GIS community to see how other
organizations are performing this task. We would appreciate if
you would complete our survey using the link below. This survey
should take no more then 10 minutes to complete. We will publish
the results to the same listservers that the request for information
was posted to. Contact information is only being collected for
our reference so that we may follow up with certain individuals
if we need to. The contact information will not be published with
our results.
Baltimore County, Maryland would also appreciate
if you could pass this link to any GIS Managers or Coordinators
that may be willing to complete their survey:

GIO
White Paper Initiative
The CGIA Board, along with members of the California GIS Council,
is currently developing a White Paper proposing the roles and
responsibilities for a State GIS position and support office.
We expect to have the paper in circulation within the next two
months; a discussion by the California GIS Council will be held
in the near future.
CGIA
Membership
Have you renewed your CGIA membership? We need your support.
Like a public radio station, CGIA cannot continue
to serve the nearly 700 people who receive the monthly NewsFlash
without the financial support of our members.
Thank you for remembering to renew
your membership for 2007-08. We are counting on your support.
